I am an Artist: And I Declare World Peace

Recently I was selected to exhibit in the 2011 Bondi Sculpture by the Sea. The sculpture I proposed to install is called 11:11 and will be dedicated to World Peace through the ‘I Declare World Peace’ art project of attorney Lawrence Gelber: http://ideclareworldpeace.com

After installing this work at Bondi in late October this year, I hope to install similar works all around the Australian coastline ~ Then the coastlines of the world.

These works will be the culmination of my evolving creative concepts and work in many different art media: Drawing and Painting: Photography and Mixed Media.

The aim is to uplift the viewer through the energy transmitted by the 11:11 symbol, as well as the visual imagery embedded into the work (Shell energy) ~ And to bring a healing energy to the surrounding environment.

The media will comprise of various scrap and precious metal filings, including gold and silver, crystals and gem stones ~ All bonded in resin on transparent Perspex: With areas of transparency that will enable the beauty of the sky and ocean to become one with the work.

The calendar: 'The Secret World of the Golden Dragonfly' was produced after photographing one particular species of dragonfly, over a 3 month period at the Roseville Lake, Sydney, Australia.

Everytime I photographed the Dragonflies ~ I was transported into their world of Magic and Beauty.

My silk paintings of many diverse Australian native plants, aimed to capture their healing energy so that the vibration of the plant can be visually transmitted and absorbed by the viewer.

Donkey Orchids are usually yellow in colour: But in these paintings have taken on a new life in blues and violets ~ The colour of communication and wisdom. Intrigued by their unusual shapes, I interpreted their ‘tails’ as tendrils: Symbolising our search for new ways to communicate with all beings ~ Petals as wings opening to wisdom ~ And a center from which the light can shine.

As a balancing visual flower essence, these blue/violet Donkey Orchids can help you become more sensitive to the Crown energy field, opening you to the Wisdom of Self ~ And being true to your own Light you will be able to connect with all Life.

Donkey Orchid Conversations

This short video is based upon two of my original silk paintings of the Donkey Orchids, an indigenous flower of Australia.

Donkey Orchids are usually yellow in colour: But in these paintings have taken on a new life in blues and violets which are associated with the crown and throat centers. And for me the Donkey Orchids with their tendril like 'tails' represented reaching out to connect will all Life ~ While asking to be guided by a higher wisdom. In making this short video I just allowed these words to be suggested by the images.

I used to prefer bright clear colour rather than muted or darker tones ~ But as an artist, I've come to LOVE and work with all colour now. When working with the stems and 'tails' of the Donkey Orchids in these paintings I used olive greens and deep red purples together ~ Colours that usually would be very difficult to blend without ending up with 'muddy browns'

Miraculously hints of pale green remained underneath the red purples and I've always considered just these small sections of these paintings to be the best painting on silk that I did.

As a balancing visual flower essence, these blue/violet Donkey Orchids can help you become more sensitive to the Crown energy field, opening you to the Wisdom of Self ~ And being true to your own Light you will be able to connect with all Life.

Welcoming 2011 ~ Dragonfly Magic

Silver Winged Dragonfly on the Roseville Lake

Celebrating the dawning of 2011 ~ With her light and love.

At the beginning of a 'New Year' I love to reflect upon all it has taken for me to arrive here/now ~ And to be open to seeing where my life’s patterns have been leading me.

I have always loved being in areas that people generally tend to feel are 'Special Places' ~ Be they designated as ‘Sacred’ or just beautiful land/ocean/city-scapes ~ And as much as possible, I love to see and connect to all the life forms within those environments ~ Trees, grasses, flowers, rocks, animals, birds, insects (Taking care around spiders, snakes, and sting rays of course.)

I’ve never actually journeyed to any of our planet's renowned ‘Sacred Sites’ ~ Although my entire being still yearns to stand barefoot on the earth, in the ‘Valley of the Winds’ in the middle of Kata Tjuta (Previously known as The Olgas) in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park of the Northern Territory of Australia.

And I’d LOVE to see and experience the indigenous rock art caves in the Kimberley, top end of Australia (That very few people know exist.) As I'd also love to stand barefoot in the middle of the Lake Mungo Desert Sand Dunes and Lunettes.

But for now I LOVE walking barefoot over the Roseville Golf Course nearly every morning at dawn ~ To capture images of the lake, wild grasses, wild ducks and dragonflies: A new community of Silver Winged Dragonflies was birthed on the Lake ~ Just in time to celebrate the dawning of 2011 ~ With their light and love.

For me now ~ And it’s not just something that I’m only beginning to feel as we enter 2011 ~ ALL places on our ‘Sacred Planet’ are unique, special and sacred ~ And our value of Place becomes even more alive within us ~ When we activate our Inner Sacredness.

And as we all activate our unique Inner Sacred Space we will come to know the sense of Universal Place ~ United ~ In ONEness.

'Art has a voice: Is yours being heard?' was a question Sian Lindemann posed to 'creatives' at Facebook.

Reinforced by Carl Watts saying at Twitter: 'Life is a game of creating effects. If no one listens/looks: No effects.'

After not doing any artwork for 5 years: On 1:1:2010 my 'Creative Muse' told me (quietly but assuredly) that I was going to resume my art again.

I have been asking for the last 5 years for the new direction I knew my art needed to take. I also knew that I couldn't pick up a pencil or brush until my true 'Creative Muse' directed me too.

All I knew was that whatever was going to be given birth through me: Was going to be VERY new and not like anything I'd ever done before.

This has turned out to be partly true: Partly not true. True in the sense that the newly envisaged work will be VERY new: Not true in the sense that it will incorporate just about every element of my previous art.

Quite soon after I started visiting Facebook and by chance (?) saw some of Jim Zuckerman's stunning photography. I became a Facebook friend of Sian Lindemann and we started talking about Jim's images.

Shortly after: Again by chance (?) I saw a Facebook message from Sian, relating to a late vacancy for her 5x5 Design Program: I immediately applied and was accepted.

During the course of the 5x5: Over the following 3 months, Sian turned many of my former ways of seeing art & for that matter life, around 360 degrees.

For instance: 'Art has a Voice: Is yours being heard?' Sian Lindemann

The evolution of the concept for my new work has taken the remainder of the year: And a summary of the proposal has been posted at Sian's Blog Walk One Mile Now

Locations: Oceans and Harbor all around Sydney.
Subjects: Shells: Abstractions & details of shells: Patterns of light.
Media: Transparent Perspex: Orgonite: Metals and Crystals.
Purpose: Aesthetic: Uplift the spirit of all who view.
Purpose: Function: Neutralize EMFs: Heal Sydney Waters. Bring back our Blue Sky.

My next step: Experiment with orgonite as an art media, and construct some small scale 11:11 models.

It will be imperative that these works are absolutely AWEsome: So that Governments & Institutions & Corporates etc will do anything to have them constructed in their local environments.

The effects: Beauty in the environment: But also neutralization of all the positively charged EMFs crisscrossing the airways, not to mention all the funny 'clouds' crisscrossing our sky.

Sian has recently been rewarded for staying true to her 20 year vision and ‘The World House and Arts Mastery Program’ has come into being. A school for artists/visionaries/contemplatives ~ That will house exhibitions ~ And be a gathering place for creatives from all over the world.

Just today Sian presented: The shaman may be an artist in the traditional sense of the word ~ A musician, dramatist, painter, singer, dancer or ceremonialist ~ Or all of those things at once. More than that, however, the shaman is touched by the creative energies of the universe and his entire life becomes a work of art as he touches the infinite and shapes it into a new way of being. This is expressed not just in ‘art forms' but in 'The Art of Living.'

And for me: As with Sian: 'I've just found the words that best explain the force that drives me to create and molds my creations.'

The lyrics of the song I selected for the video: ‘Stand Tall’ by singer/songwriter Ian Axel, were in perfect sync with the Essence of Sand Morning Glory and my images.

Just being in the vicinity of Sand Morning Glory: Its vibration can release self imposed limitations and restrictions. And the same vibrational energy can be visually transmitted and absorbed by the viewer.

As Ian has said: We often .. follow other people's agendas. You have to hold yourself accountable to make changes and live in the now. The world responds to what you give.’

The lyrics also had an influence on the design of some of the frames ie Morning Glory began to flower on tall stems in the tall side borders

So as you watch the changing patterns in this video and listen to ‘Stand Tall: Allow all the old limiting aspects of your being to silently melt away and then as the NEW patterns emerge, breathe in the sense of the NEW freedom to explore the more inspired aspects of your being.

Sand Morning Glory provides an ideal habitat for small birds, lizards and many other creatures. I first sighted the delicate magenta Sand Morning Glory on the expansive coastal sand dunes of Nambucca Heads, North Eastern NSW.

Just being in the vicinity of Sand Morning Glory: Its vibration starts to release self imposed limitations and restrictions. And the same vibrational energy of Sand Morning Glory can be visually transmitted and absorbed by the viewer.

The predominant colors in these paintings were Magenta, Green and Gold.

Magenta: The color of ‘The Soul Star’ is both the beginning and the end of the Light Spectrum: The bridge to Spirit and our connection with the fullest expression of Divine Love.

Green: Resonates with the Heart Chakra. As the dividing color of ‘As above - So below’ (Blue and Red) Green represents the point of change and the ability to move forward.

Gold: Gold is the understanding, knowledge and wisdom that far surpasses the intellect. It is purest joy, reflecting our values of self worthiness. And in alchemical transmutation: Gold represents wealth on all levels.
So by looking at these images now with their colors and patterns, allow all the OLD limiting aspects of your being to silently melt away and then breathe in the sense of NEW freedom this gives to explore the more sanguine aspects of your being.

Forty-five million years ago Australasia separated from Antarctica and South America, with Australia drifting to a more temperate zone.

Australian plants then evolved in isolation in this warmer drier climate, ultimately leading to the development of many rare and unique species. Today along with Brazil, Australia is regarded as possessing the highest number of flowering plants in the world.

As well as playing a vital role in the binding of the sand dunes, the Sand Morning Glory provides an ideal habitat for small birds, lizards and many other creatures. Trails of the plant can be seen in some of the harsh semi-arid inland areas as well as scrambling over our coastal sand dunes. I first sighted it on the expansive coastal sand dunes of Nambucca Heads, North Eastern NSW.

My Journey

Ideally I like to surround myself with people who have very positive attitudes about their direction in life and aspirations for their future. I particularly love sharing with people who are also not afraid to travel beyond the confines of the norm in their thinking and being.

I guess I’ve had the notion of escaping the norm ever since I can remember. As a child it seemed that whatever you wanted TO BE in life was inextricably bound to whatever ‘career’ you chose and I changed my budding ‘careers’ nearly every week.

Science always attracted me, wanting to know how everything in life and the universe worked. But my final criteria, at the age of about 18 was to have the ‘Personal Freedom’ to explore and follow my own ‘dreams’ which were still forever changing and my priority was never to be restricted by a 9 to 5 lifestyle. At that time I didn’t equate ‘Personal Freedom’ with ‘Financial Freedom’ and the only people within my ‘realm’ that seemed to be living life to the fullest were ‘The Artists.’

Ironically I felt like a fish out of water when it came to actually drawing and painting, but fortunately I came under the early guidance of a few ‘Living Masters’ who taught me that a lot of the time, Art WORK was just that .. Basically 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration/dedication. Thus began my career as an Art WORKER and spending twice as many hours ‘WORKing’ as most people do in their ‘9 to 5 jobs.’

I graduated from Prahran CAE, Victoria with the Diploma of Art and Design * Majoring in painting but equally devoted to drawing especially in very fine detail using color combined with black and white.

With an increasing interest in conceptual and environmental art I jumped at the opportunity to assist Tom McCullough, Director of the Mildura Arts Centre during a Sculpturescape Triennial year.

The Mildura Sculpture Triennials were the first events in Australia to promote and encourage large scale contemporary sculpture, site-specific installation and performance art.

Mildura, a remote regional city on the border of Vitoria, South Australia and New South Wales was an ideal convergence point for artists from around Australia and overseas to gather. And the Sculpture Triennials were the first events to promote and encourage large scale contemporary sculpture, site-specific installation and performance art in Australia.

‘The Mildura Sculpturescape attracted an increasing number of artists doing installation, process, earth and other forms of art that emerged when sculpture, as it were, left the pedestal, moved around the room and went outside.’ Noel Sheridan.

A few years later I returned to Mildura to establish ‘The Garden’ a collaborative work with Margaret Bell. Passing mention at ‘Not just a pretty picture: art as ecological communication’ on page 355 * Smile.

The following Sculpturescape ‘The Garden’ was returned to and claimed by its native surroundings. This time totally undocumented. Would love to devote a page to the three months of my life spent designing and constructing ‘The Garden’ and perhaps one day I’ll find the publication that I can still recollect having a wonderful laugh over with Tom: I’d made some wonderfully inane comments about all the events/participation the garden attracted rather than the actual garden itself. Which reflecting upon now is rather typical and possibly why I have always loved organizing group exhibitions and events.

It seemed only natural to become immersed in the reciprocal relationship between art and healing and in my silk art work in particular, after becoming technical adapt through painting on many different types of silk, I aimed at infusing the healing vibrations of crystals and plants including our native bush plants/flowers into my paintings. At that time I was also making my own Australian Native Flower Essences.

From there I moved into multi-media and photography and of course digital image-making. Still interweaving Art with Natural Healing * Instilling Healing into Art and Creative Energy into Healing.

For me health and healing is ALL encompassing and involves far more than the food we eat, the water we drink and the air we breathe. Although all these ingredients are vital for our overall survival, our total wellness is also dependent on our reactions and responses to people/animals/circumstances, the myriad of impressions we absorb and assimilate on a moment by moment basis and all the dynamics of our relationships with each other and all living creatures including the earth herself.

A few years ago I realized that over the years, in order to ‘survive’ I’d been slowly compromising my ideals of instilling my art with something of ‘true essence’ and so just like that .. I stopped ALL personal art WORK and started exploring the world of on-line networking and business opportunities.

Throughout my working life, not all assigned tasks were to my own choosing and the one philosophy that has sustained me the most has been to ‘do what you love, and if you can’t do that, to love what you do.’

So now I ‘work’ at whatever I do on-line with just as much energy and enthusiasm. Perhaps even more so as I still manage to find outlets to explore and now communicate about both my image making and healing interests.

Perhaps the biggest influence on my philosophy of art and then health and healing can be paraphrased in this one sentence. ‘The Greatest Art is that of making a Complete Human Being out of Oneself.’

And so my blog All Round Health and Healing aimed to bring together my understanding of many different facets of our living that can play an essential role in the integration of the physical body with the emotions, mind and spirit, thus contributing towards becoming ‘A Complete Human Being.’

Just musing but it seems to me that blogging has become a fundamental component of full-filling one’s ‘Greatest Art’ for so many people. It’s great if you have an audience for your writing of course, if reaching out is your aim .. but ultimately blogging gives one a vehicle for individual self expression and so I really encourage it, both for personal and business development alike.

After years of ‘online experimentation’ I’ve culled my ‘Business Port-Folio’ down to a few primary complementary businesses, that in their separate ways, I feel will also contribute to the well-being of mankind.

Nurturing * Pathways to Abundant Living

Pathways to Abundant Living was my first blog and intended to be a reflection upon my own personal art and healing journey. Its rudimentary form was my first step towards developing mini websites, combining my interests in art and healing with on-line business.

Have never been attracted to working with film, but nudged by a dream, I made my first owl and dolphin collages.

Working with mixed media inevitably directed me towards studying photography and developing more personal concepts with collage/montage using my own black and white photography. Several series resulted: including one that was dedicated to my father * One of these works is below: I hope to write about and publish the series eventually. Another series 'Four women' is still in pieces: Ready to be assembled (one day.)

I used the owl and dolphin collages in my first very short video. Preparing for my next video now that will be based on this mixed media series 11:11 Elements Series. Much of my collage work has been based on 11:11 which first appeared in my work intuitively without realizing the symbolic content it held.

About my writing now: I believe it is very important to encourage whatever personal skills, talents and aptitudes anyone has. And if one individual isn’t quite as good at something or another as someone else, they must NEVER be put down for the efforts they do make. Skills and levels of competency can be developed with further training or people may have other embryonic talents, that no-one including themselves are even aware of.

In my early teens it only took one English teacher, who didn’t go for my ‘rebelliousness’ to publicly ridicule and humiliate me, to make me feel that there was no hope for me in Academic English. But in my final year at school it was OK to start thinking for yourself and I topped the class .. LOL. (My brag: And that was at University High in Melbourne, which at that time was academically selective.)

Somehow with the shift from working with visual imagery to on-line writing, I’ve re-discovered as it were, my love of writing * But being more visually inclined, I can at times be given to making up words. So forgive me if the Academic English isn’t always ‘Queens.’

My writing (as with my art work) is copyright free. But of course if you are going to make use of anything from my Websites or Blogs, it’s simply good on-line business acumen and a WIN-WIN situation if you DO acknowledge the reference source.

About this Avatar now: I love natural law as exemplified in mathematics, nature and indigenous handicrafts. While I don’t even begin to understand the higher mathematical laws of the Crop Circles, I have responded to them visually and emotively ever since they were first sighted and have incorporated them into some of my art.

This little Avatar is one of my favorite Crop Circles and to me represents a harmonious convergence of energy. But if my image is a rose to you, then a rose it is as I love images that are inclined to be ambiguous, meaning something different to everyone who sees them.
